You may remember that last year I hosted a South Park art collab to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Ray – Part 1.

Since Part 2’s 20th anniversary is coming up, I thought I’d come back for round 2.

Admittedly I don’t plan on this collab being as big as the first. I haven’t been feeling it like I used to, but I still want to commemorate Part 2 as I did Part 1. Hopefully we’ll still have a good turnout and end product. I plan on creating a gallery game and a Wimmelbilder for the collab to showcase all of the entries.

Anyway, you’ll wanna know what you gotta do:

Rules/Guidelines:

• Brief: Submit at least one full-body character drawn in the South Park style. It can be pretty much anyone: a real person, a fictional character, an OC, a Newgrounds mascot, even just one of the characters from the show.
• Format: Create your character digitally, or provide a high-quality scan of a traditional piece like a hand drawing or painting.
• No Character Builders: Don’t use character/avatar creator sites like SP-Studio. Draw the characters yourself.
• No AI Art: Goes without saying. I’ve also gotten pretty good at working out if something is AI-generated, so consider yourself warned.
• No Shitposting: Don’t just submit something you slapped together in a couple of minutes. Might as well post something you’re gonna be proud of.
• No NSFW Art: Let’s try and keep it to a T.
• No Background Elements: Just the character(s) and whatever prop(s) they need. This will just be easier for what I’ve got planned in terms of world building.
• Multiple Characters: You can submit more than one character if you want. If the characters are standalone (i.e. not doing anything together like cuddling or just standing really close) then it would be best if they each get their own entry/canvas.
• Modifications: I'll allow you to tweak/modify your entry up to the deadline.
• Dimensions: Make sure your artwork is a decent resolution; the gallery will have the dimensions of 1920x1080, so I recommend a canvas between 764 and 900 pixels tall.
• Transparent Background: Submit your character as a .PNG with a transparent background.
• Submission: Feel free to post your entry in the collab thread, but also host a full-definition version of your entry somewhere. Those of you with Supporter status can host it in your Newgrounds Dump; alternatively, upload it to a file sharing site and send me a link. You’re welcome to upload your entry to the Portal prior to the deadline.
• Approval: I’ll react to your entry with a :) if it's approved, and I’ll let you know if you need to change anything to get approved.
• Also, have fun with it. :)

I thought that I’d do things differently this time, and get the ball rolling with my own entry, Stan Marshroom. Plus, it’ll give you an example of what I’m looking for in your entries.

• Entry is a full-body piece of art.
• It consists of just the character with no background elements.
• It’s a decent resolution (1080x1080 but obviously crunched for the BBS).
• It’s been exported as a .PNG with a transparent background.

Now that you know the score, go forth and create more chaos in South Park!

It's a go-go!

It's winter and it's been cold as balls, especially here in England. I thought that this would make me feel better, and maybe some of you guys too.

For this collab, I plan on creating a Wimmelbilder from the submissions, just like I did for my South Park Collab.

I also plan on creating a gallery of the full-definition characters, which may be split into more than one part depending on how many entries I receive.

Welp, another year over. I see that some people here have been doing a 2023 Recap, and thought it would be interesting to do my own.

This was my first year on Newgrounds, and I think it went pretty well to say the least. Here are my personal highlights:

I created art in many styles, and on many topics, including Flash games and movies, graffiti, and creature design.

Across the 27 pieces that I've published to the Portal this year, I think there's been some slow but steady artistic development. I think that my best so far was this one:

I unleashed a plethora of ridiculous punny creatures and entities:

I got to commemmorate Clock Day 2023...

I gained a following that is slowly growing.

I've been gathering ideas about what I want to do next year:

• I want to look at techniques to hopefully make my art easier.
• I want to carry on drawing Newgrounds characters, particularly Ray.
• I want to venture further into some of the avenues I've opened up, mainly character design and graffiti.
• I want to try my hand at Wimmelbilder art. My South Park collab was sort of a softcore version of that genre.
• I want to enter and host more collabs. I'm already contemplating entering one that closes in February, and have at least two ideas for collabs of my own.
• I might be making art for a monthly challenge.
• I need to get started on a big upcoming art project. More will be revealed later...
• I'm highly likely to abandon my other social media platforms (Tumblr, DeviantArt, Buzzly) because they're not really working out, and keeping my work here on Newgrounds.

I can't think of anyone in particular I want to thank. I guess just thank you for being here.

Hopefully 2024 plays nicer.
